Platform: Wii-U
This game is coming from Platinum and the Director is Hideki Kamiya, if you don't recognize his name, I'm sure you'll recognize the games that he has directed. Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Bayonetta, etc. This guy has an awesome track record.
From what we gather of the trailer, it looks like you're a super hero rescuing civilians from an evil giant robot attack. The spin looks like that the amount of civilians you are rescuing transform into different abilities you can use to fight against these giant robots. Giant fists, swords, airplanes and even jello.
It also looks like there will be a multiplayer portion, or co-op to the game which only extends to the fun factor that is exploding all over the trailer already. This is definitely something that is up my alley.
Dishonered
Platform: PC, Xbox 360, PS3.
Dishonered E3 Gameplay Trailer
Dishonored is a game that I have read that is a combination between Bioshock and Assassins Creed. These are definitely compliments and from what I see in the trailer I can see the resemblance.
The main character is Corvo and he is very good at what he does, sword play, gun play and unfortunately for his enemies he has supernatural powers. He was a body guard to the Empress who gets murdered and Corvo is get framed for it. So, in this steam punk city of Dumwall, we will be doing missions that will hopefully lead Corvo to the real killer and clear his name.
It's a first person action/stealth game. There is depth in the hand to hand combat as well as the powers you're going to be able to use to conquer your missions through out the game. Powers such as, slowing down time, teleporting, being able to posses any living thing (rats, fish, humans, etc), saw a glimpse of telekinesis in the trailer as well.
Definitely looking to be a very interesting game.
Watch Dogs
Watch Dog Game play
So far from Watch Dogs, we're in a world where everything is ran by computers. Pretty much a full digital era, probably an allegorical reflection of how much digital devices people have and use today. It even goes to the extent of having people wearing cubes on their heads that have QR codes on them. The only problem here is that we see the main character has a way of disrupting devices, hacking them, bringing up information on the target he needs, etc.
Graphically the game looks really good, a very detailed looking city. Things look pretty realistic, including a lot of the characters. The weather effect looked really nice, especially when the guy slowed down time when it was raining.
The shootout looked very movie like, I'm not big on games looking so movie like but watching him slide over the hood of the taxi and then sliding over the next car while shooting the enemy was pretty neat. The shoot out ends with a helicopter spot light on our guy, it pans out to reveal that another character is being controlled by another human. So it looks like there is actually going to be a co-op/multiplayer sort of deal in this game, could end up being interesting.
The game looks pretty good, the setting is pretty unique and so far the things you can do to manipulate that world to finish your missions seems very destructive, and that is definitely a plus.
The Last Of Us
Platform: PS3
The Last Of Us Game play
This a new survival action game coming from the guys at Naughty Dog. So it should be no surprise as to why this game looks as beautiful as it does, it just speaks for itself. The one thing to note is that in our usual post apocalyptic settings there is a lot of dull colors, in this we see a lot of green. It just really stands out and shines, a game that did this before was Enslaved. It's a good thing to see that ND adopted it well, it's a nice change of pace to the genre.
And the character models, just so much detail all over the place. I love it, I mean I don't even really have to go into how good these characters look, but it's hard not to mention it.
Our characters our Joel and Ellie. You'll only be controlling Joel while Ellie is a complete AI character. In this footage at one point we see Ellie chuck a brick at an enemies head when her father ran out of bullets at the end of a gun fight. Which then lead her father to pummel the living hell out of the guy and brutally slams his head against a drawer. Hopefully this represents Ellie correctly through the whole game and she is never ends up being an AI hindrance.
This game is gritty. When Joel was slamming the guys head into the drawer, the impact just felt like it carried weight. The same goes for when he was getting attacked with a pipe and fist fighting enemies, there just felt like there was actually weight there and the sounds of impact only amplified that. Not to mention you and the enemy show signs of being in the fight, as you tend to bleed as you get hit.
One of the smaller details that I liked is that when Joel went into his inventory, he actually took the bag off of his back and opened it up. It's not the most major thing to do, but those are the kind of things I love in games. It's just a nice small way to keep you into the game. When he did this we got a glimpse of a crafting sytem, where we see him create a molotov cocktail and set an enemy ablaze.
When the footage ends it only reminds you of just how gritty this game is going to be, Joel gets into another fight and wrestles a shotgun away from an enemy. When he gains control of the fight, he hits the guy in the face with the end of the gun several time, the guy begs for mercy when Joel points the barrel in his face but he pulls the trigger anyway.
This is a definite buy for me, this game just looks great in every single aspect. And this is coming from someone who wasn't really that into the Uncharted series, not that the games were bad or that I hate them. They just never really grabbed me as they did with other people.
